Daybook for Jan. 20

For today…

Outside my window… an Oklahoma thunderstorm.
I am thinking… about making another cappuccino.
From the classroom… hall-pass coupons for third quarter.
I am thankful for… my healthy, feisty cat, who is happily chasing a wadded-up piece of paper all over my office.
From the kitchen… microwave molten lava cake and a bottle of blue Gatorade.
I am wearing… jeans, a black sweater, and plain black boots.
I am reading… the latest Christian Science Sentinel.
I am hoping… that the guidance department can get the kids’ schedules straightened out by the end of the week.
I am creating… a list of things I hope to accomplish between now and August.
I am praying… to know the best way to help my most difficult students.
Around the house… comfortable clutter.
One of my favorite things… warm weather.
A few plans for the rest of the week… shop for burr grinders, teach the kids to set up notecards, and decorate my dashboard with images from Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

  1. I love Simon! Actually, that’s what I wanted to name your brother, but your dad didn’t care much for it and neither did anyone else. Oh well.
