One of my students, Holly Gould, has gone missing and is believed to have run away. Please do the following:
1. Go to her mother’s Web site and read the information she has posted.
2. Look closely at the pictures. Memorize them so you will recognize Holly immediately if you see her.
3. Pay attention to everyone you see, and call the authorities IMMEDIATELY if you see someone who looks like Holly.
4. Pray. If you’re not sure where to start, Psalm 139 seems appropriate … especially this part:
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
Let’s get to work and get Holly back home where she belongs. She’s a precocious young lady, but she hasn’t quite finished growing up, and she doesn’t need to be out there on her own, dealing with grownup problems and facing grownup risks, just yet.
