We just got in from Tucumcari about four hours ago. I’m tired, but I wanted to Photoshop some images from our trip, and I owed my editor a freelance article I’d forgotten to write up before we left, and … well, here I am, blogging while I should be sleeping.

Citizens Bank installed this neon-festooned, Deco-styled ATM across from the famous U-Drop Inn in Shamrock, Texas. Outstanding.
My car — recently dubbed “Bobby McGee” — under the canopy at the U-Drop Inn.
This is the first time I’ve seen snow on Tucumcari Mountain. Gorgeous.
