Music of the night

Today was icky and rainy. I didn’t like the weather much, but the local amphibians apparently loved it, because they spent most of the evening holding karaoke contests all over Red Fork. I’ve never heard so many frogs singing in my life. There must have been 40 or 50 of them out there in the darkness, singing every song they knew. When the frogs finished, the toads started up. It was amazing. It was like Idol for pond dwellers. If I’d been thinking on my feet, I would have taken my laptop outside and used the built-in microphone to record the concert, because it was really spectacular.

Hope your evening was full of impromptu beauty, too.
