Striking

This afternoon, as I was walking across campus, one of my girls stopped in the middle of the front lawn, picked a dandelion, and blew all the fluff off of it.

Some of my kids acted like real jerks today. It was very frustrating.

Ten years from now, I won’t remember that. I’ll just remember the impulsive, childlike joy that danced in one girl’s eyes as she stood in the dappled sunshine under magnificent old trees, watching those tiny seeds float out into a bright spring afternoon.
