The only thing better than seeing Judy Collins for free is seeing Judy Collins for free at a venue that allows you to bring your camera. If I’d realized ahead of time that photography would be allowed, I would have brought the Rebel and stationed myself a little closer to the stage. Still, I think the Fuji — which I’d just tossed in the car in case I saw any fun roadside attractions on the way to Okemah — did a pretty respectable job, given the distance and the lighting conditions:
Cameras were allowed, but audio recording was not, so you’ll just have to trust me when I say that it was a great show. The highlight, at least for me, was hearing her sing “Since You Asked,” which Ron and I talked my little sister into singing for our wedding, at my friend Zola’s recommendation. (Thanks again, Zola!) She followed it with “Albatross,” which is one of my favorites.
