Today was largely uneventful. I saw a cute little bird (a sparrow, I think, but I couldn’t make out the details from where I was sitting) perched on top of the glassed-in entryway outside our office. Redbuds and flowering cherries are blooming like crazy all over town, and I’m looking forward to seeing the dogwoods pretty soon.
Song and I went for a walk around the block today at lunch. I think he enjoyed being out in the sunshine with me.
He’s getting better at “heel,” “sit” and “stay,” and I am getting better at paying attention to him and supervising him so he stays out of mischief.
I think his biggest problem is that he is a typical 2-year-old: Out of one thing and into three all the time because he is busy and energetic and curious about the world around him. Meanwhile, my biggest problem is that I am a typical 30-year-old: Too tired and self-absorbed to take the time to appreciate those endearing puppy qualities while they last.
We have a lot to learn from each other, I think.
