Peaceful evening

I’m closing out my weekend with a big dose of David Lanz while I finish up some grading and look ahead to next week’s lessons.

It’s been a productive weekend. I spent all day Saturday on some training, then went out to dinner with Ron and picked up a few groceries at Whole Foods. While we were standing in the checkout lane, I made an impulse buy: a remastered copy of the Beatles’ Rubber Soul. Lennon remains my favorite, but I think I finally understand the girls who were screaming and fainting over Macca in the ’60s.

I spent this morning at church, and then we went to Drysdales this afternoon before coming home to chop up firewood. I love our chainsaw. It’s bigger, louder, and more dangerous than any other power tool in my collection. Working assembly-line fashion, with Ron moving the logs into position and me running the saw, we chopped up the better end of a rick of firewood in under an hour. When we finished, I came inside and worked up a few lesson plans before heading over to the Rock Cafe for dinner. We took 66 on the way back home. Nothing particularly exciting was going on, but it was a good trip anyway.

I am now wrapping up a little grading so I can start my week with a relatively clear plate.

Hope your weekend was peaceful and productive, wherever you are.

Emily
